TB Spacer?

Postby love4chevysilverado [OP] » Nov 06 2011, 11:52pm

What do you guys think of your TB spacers?

Any noticeable power increase/fuel mileage?

I'm considering picking up an Airaid TB Spacer but I think I might be falling into their marketing, but figured it'd be a good way to spend $100

Any insight would be great,

PS, I'm not looking for 15+ hp, or 2 more mpg's, just a few more hp's and maybe half an mpg

I've got one on my truck. Probably not the best $100 I spent. I did gain one MPG, but maybe that's because I cleaned off the MAF sensor when I installed the TBS. It sounds awesome; some guys report an HP gain, but it's more of a dud for me. If I were you, I would save up for an exhaust re-do, or a tuner. Those are fairly sure-fire ways of getting more MPG.

Yeah, I see stuff all the time about how TB spacers make such a difference, but then I think to myself "how does such a small piece of metal make such a big difference."

I'm actually considering porting my throttle body now

What type of headers are you going with?

Save your money. Spacer will do nothing on a vortec engine. TBI engine it will maybe do a little. Because fuel is not mixed between the throttle body and the heads all it does is add weight. For those of you that argue with this, show me some scientific numbers to back up what you are saying.

Yep, I hear ya....after doing some researching it doesn't seem like a TB spacer is going to improve much.

That's fine, money better spent elsewhere
