If you decide to try and install it you should consider custom painting it as well. I am a member of a Camaro forum (camaro5.com) and there are a lot of people that custom paint the covers both V6 and V8 and they look really good. I have a 2011 Camaro convertible with the V6 and I decided to paint mine after looking at the pictures of what other people did.

no parts  If it will work I will do it if it isn't crazy expensive to get all the pieces needed. I think that is what my engine needs 8-)

Thanks for the thread on locks. I'm going to order some tomorrow sure will cut down on the number of different keys for sure! I will take some pics tomorrow of my Vortec MAX engine covers and post along with GM part numbers if you'd like? I order one of those camaro covers before I got the MAX covers and had to send it back. The intake sits higher on the truck motors than the 6.2L in the camaro. There were some other issues to, but can't quite remember them all now. Hope this will help you.

I am curious what would work for the 5.3L. I had seen a Impala 5.3L cover I wonder if that would fit?

Great! looking forward to the pictures. I am looking for something that is somewhat direct fit. If yours looks good I may just go that route instead.

BTW, if you ever need to lend out what ever your locking up you can get keys cut that do not have the chip in them. I have two of those as well, one for my father-in-law and another one I keep in the truck just in case.

Shop around on the locks for free shipping. That is about the only discount you will find. JCWhitney is where I got mine from because they were giving free shipping at that time.
