Engine cover apperance MOD

Postby EX-F150 owner [OP] » Mar 13 2011, 6:25pm

Can I swap out my engine cover for a Camaro cover? Has this been done by anyone already? I know this may be a crazy idea, but I think the engine cover on these trucks do not compliment the engine in any way. I mean it's the largest engine available yet it has or looks to have the same engine cover the smaller engines have. I like the look of the Camaro cover and wouldn't mind swapping mine out for one if it will fit, not too expensive to do and look ok on it since it was not designed for one of them.

Here are some pictures of the parts sheet from GM.

I put the Vortec MAX covers on my 2010 Silverado 1500 ExtCab 4x4. They look really good and the fit was almost bolt on, had to make a modified bracket to attach to intake due to mountong holes being slightly different.

That intake looks sick, but what is that hole in it? Oil fill?
