I got my 01 8.1 6 month ago and have been trying to figure whats wrong with it.It skips or misses under a load. I have had it checked by many different shops and have a new egr valve, new plugs and wires, fuel filter,cam senser, had the fuel system cleaned by a chevy garage.They did 3 aplications of gm cleaner.At the chevy garage they ruled out the crank sensor, fuel regulator, fuel pump. So now what?Any ideas?Truck has just over 100000 miles.

Even though you have changed the plug wires, I bet you have a bad wire or a cracked spark plug. If you turn your radio to a very weak AM station with it running, do you hear like a snapping sound? A bad wire will make that noise. Or drive it under load as you specified and see if you can hear the snapping noise as it misses. I hope this helps.

8 new/reman injectors and still breaking doen at 3500 rpms.Fuel pump? Fuel regulator?I had it trouble shooted and the GM guy said "Low Fuel over a known period of time''. Then said I needed 3 new injectors.

50.00 set of plug wires straightened it out.I guess the shop that trouble shooted this truck need a tune up.I paid the garage $600.00 for the TS process and was told I needed new injectors.He wanted to put in 3 new injector at $170.00 a pc.

I had what sounds to be the same issue with my 2001. What I did was changed out all plugs and wires, took the fuel rail off and cleaned it, bought one injector and chased it around until I found the one that was bad.

I would like to add, that if I wasn't so lazy at the time, I could have saved some time and just tested the resistance of each injector to see the bad one (you can go online and find out what the resistance should be).
