20" wheels pros and cons

I was wondering if any of you who have replaced your tires on the chrome clad rims or any of the aluminum rims, have requested the tire installer to install the stick on wheel weights on the inside face of the rim. The dealer actually used stick on weights on mine when they repaired my tire. I think that is a cleaner way to go especially since the rims can be damaged by removing/installing wheel weights.

I am running the factory 20" wheels and tires and think it rides great. This is the second GM truck I have owned with the factory 20" set up, the first was an 03 SS Silverado.

Dru, nice Super Sport wheels. Do you have a pic of the whole truck with them installed?

No sir, all stock. There's other stuff I'd like to do but as of now, I'm financially embarrassed.

I needed and wanted a more aggressive tread to replace the Goodyear LS Eagles. The ride is no different then before, smooth and quiet, until I get around to 70 then I get a little hum from the tires.

Ha, I like your tires and your wheels. I opted for the 275/60/20 though.

I got the slightly larger tire to have more sidewall to give me a little bit more cushion. Probably doesn't make much difference at all, but oh well.

But to the original question, I would definitely say you are going to be losing some ride comfort with 20-inch wheels for sure. I had stock 17s on my truck and found some OEM 20s on Craigslist. As soon as I put them on, I drove about a block and realized, wow, 20s ride rougher than shit. Now I'm used to them and it doesn't bother me. I also replaced the Goodyear Eagle LS2 (275/55/20) with the Cooper Zeon LTZ (275/60/20). Much better tire, rides way better.
