Bowtieman. I hope you read the entire post.
I did have to do minor metal trimming and some inner wheelwell liner to fit the front. Just wanted to give you a heads up. ;)

I had following your post's had to do the same trimming. All the info you provided was a huge help, it was nerve racking having to cut on a Brand New truck but once it was said and done it looks great. I'll post some pics soon, thanks again.

Any pics of what had to be trimmed? I Ordered a 3.5" "leveling kit" and I want these tires. What has to be trimmed? As previous posters have said, it's hard to think about cutting your truck.

What did you use? A grinder with a metal wheel?

I want this setup, I'm just nervous.

Btw, I have 2010 Sierra crew cab 1500 with stock 265/65/18.

Any input is appreciated.

You might be ok with that 3.5 lift. I only had a 2 inch level.
I used a Dremel tool with a grind wheel and made nice clean cuts.
Crawl under your truck and look up under the rear area of the front wheelwell. You will see a tab that connects the plastic liner. Undo the liner enough to gain access to the tab area . That tab and about a inch or so of metal is what I trimmed off. If you turn the wheel you will see just the area where its the closest. Once its trimmed fit the liner back down and use a small hammer to tap a lip up to hold the liner in place. Plyers will help making a small lip. I did trim about a 1/4 inch of the bottom liner to avoid buckleing .
Just take your time and only cut what you need to .
P.M. Me for any questions. This post is pretty general . Good luck,,

I will have to trim just like I was warned about. I will get to that later or tomorrow since I can't get an alignment until Thursday. I'm so happy with how this turned out.

The last photo is next to a stock 09 Silverado for comparison.

Photos seem to be cut off on the right side when I post them here for some reason.

295/70/18 Nitto Trail Grapplers with 2 Inch R.C. Level kit

Postby yamafam » Aug 21 2012, 5:41pm

I found this link on another forum. It explains how to gain 2" from the front fender well with only a minor trim and stock looking results. Haven't done mine yet but maybe this afternoon or tomorrow. http://www.duramaxforum.com/forum/nor-c ... -pics.html
