Cooper at3 tire pressure?

Cooper at3 tire pressure?

Postby patmc81 [OP] » Nov 20 2011, 5:21pm

So I was running them at the stock 35 psi and yesterday I was filling them up and noticed that they say 80 psi on the side? I filled them to 40 do you think I should go any more?

Go by what is listed on the sticker on the front drivers door. I have those same tires and thought I could go more. The ride was so rough it put them back at 35. And depending on what the driving conditions are you could get worse traction with higher PSI pressures.

80 is probably the tire's max. The number on the door takes the rims and suspension into account. Unless they look seriously under inflated you should be good with the sticker number.

I play around with my Psi alot. I found 45psi front, 48psi rear really feel just right for me under normal driving. Towing, I bump up to 52 psi front, 55psi rear to haul my 7000lb camping trailer. I think the Coop's might be alitte stiffer sidewalls than my Nitto's though.

Yeah, The 80psi is just the tires max cold psi & is for your 2500 & 3500 trucks that need a higher load. You can run them at 35-40 psi with no problem. I run 40-42 psi.
