how much lift do i need to clear 40s

I have a 2009 gmc sierra 1500, i was originally goin to run 20x12s with 36x15.5 but found a deal on a set of 22x14s i couldnt pass up. I deffinatly want to go bigger than a 35 but Now my problem is i cant find anything wider than a 13.5 except in a 40. So now my question is how much lift would i need to clear 40s? My plan was 7.5 suspension and 3in body.

Here is a pic of my friends truck with 22x14s with about 8" of lift with 35s

Nice lookin truck! How much power loss was there with the 35s? I didnt wanna go too big at first as i do some towing with my truck but then i figured hell go big or go home lol

He's got a tuner, exhaust, and cai on it. He can't keep up with mine but it does ok for what it is I guess ! Lol
