Opinions on tires

Postby scottja [OP] » Feb 02 2012, 6:02pm

I run 265/70/17 on my 07 1500 2wd and its time for tires I got 30,000 on the set od duelers I have on it now and they have made a lot or road noise since it was new. I went with the A/T last time because of the price. Since then I have had a daughter born with medical problems and my wife is on the read alot going to doctors, putting around 3500 mile a month on it. I,m just wanting some suggestions on a dependable long lasting tire with good dry and wet weather traction. Off road grip is not a concern as it wont leave the pavement unless its ran off the road and as far as snow traction well we don,t know what snow is down here in south Louisiana, any help would be appreciated.

I'd recommend the Yokohama Geolander HT/S. Its a 60k mile rated highway/all-season tire. In my experience Yoko's wear well and provide great grip on dry and wet pavement. I had a set of AT/S's on my last truck and they went around 50k miles and also weren't to loud. I plan on putting Yoko's on my new truck once the stock rubber is gone. Just a suggestion.

Also forgot to mention, Yoko's have a great price point. Usually much cheaper than anything from Michelin, BF, or Goodyear.

I,ve ran them on my work truck a 3500 4x4 good traction in mud but can't take the heat down here have blown several of them out but will admit any tire on that truck gets extremly abused

Michelin LTX M/S will fit the description you are looking for. Quiet, great wet traction, very long wearing.

I would say go with the Nitto Terra Grappler over the Dune grappler for the usage you need them for. I will admit, those Dune Grapplers look pretty sweet with the flame pattern
