Tire Size with 2" Leveling Kit

Postby Mikejustowns [OP] » Nov 14 2010, 6:14pm

New Here. Looking to instal a 2" Rough Country Leveling Kit in my 2007 Silverado (NBS). What is the max tire size I could run on 18" rims. I Have the factory 17's on now but am looking to upgrade them to 18's. Thanks, Mike

The tire size will depend on the offset of the wheel. do you want the wheels/tires to stick out past the fender?

I dont mind them sticking out a little bit. Maybe an inch or so. Eventually I am planning on installing fender flares.

I just put a Daystar on my 2010 silverado, i have the 20in wheels so i put 305/55/20 and only had to do slight trimming to the shround and the metal tab holding the shround. Truck sits awesome now, cant tell a difference in ride.

Do you run any mudflaps with your 20's? I plan on putting a leveling kit on my truck and they state 285's will fit with no problem (mind you I only have the 17" wheels right now).

No mudflaps. I would think 285's should be no Problem. I had 275 as stock and there was plenty of room.

Re: Tire Size with 2" Leveling Kit

Postby BLACKONBLACK » Dec 07 2010, 9:40am

New guy here, i also just got a 2011 2wd, just put leveling kit on and was told not to go any wider than 9 inch rims cause of the half shafts in rear, any truth to this?, i just wanna know what are the widest setups i can run, for 18s, and maybe 20s, but trimming is not a option, cant bring myself to do it... Any help appreciated
