Tire size with rough country leveling kit

Postby tcarr25 [OP] » Nov 03 2011, 12:28am

I have a 2011 chevy 1500 with a 2in rough country leveling kit. i have the stock mud flaps on my truck and i was wondering what the largest tire size i could fit with the leveling kit is. Although the mud flaps barely take any of the fender well up i dont want to go to big because i want to keep the mud flaps.

+1 on above. I have a 2006 with the RC kit and 285's. Have just enough room when turning. See below:

No, you could fit them without keys. I forget who, but someone here has posted a pic of 285's on stock wheels at stock height. Just less clearance in that case.. But personally, I think it looks much better with a level front end.

And definitely read the thread linked to from above. Great info and really explains how it all works.

I think a lot of guys have done 285/65/18 with a leveling kit. I think 75's would be too tall and skinny.

Postby FOURDOGS » Nov 04 2011, 1:07pm

My nephew has a 2006 without a leveling kit. He has 285's on it and they did rub slightly on the front of the inner fender well, he trimmed it out with a utility knife. I have a 2008 with the Daystar leveling kit. I went up to 20" rim though and installed 265 Nitto Terra Grapplers. I wanted to go lil bigger and had clearance but the shop told me i would have to recalibrate the speedo if i did so i went with their recommendations.

Love your truck twday87.

I have a 2008 Silverado 4x4 1500 I'am wanting to install a RC 2" level kit on the front as well and put 33x11.50x17 on my stock 17's. I believe this is the setup you have. I was wondering if you have to use any backspacing for the larger tires on your truck twday87? If so what size backspacing are you using on your truck. Also curious to what brand tires you have on your truck. Thanks
