Wheel lug nuts

Removing plastic covered lug nuts.

Wheel lug nuts

Postby DaDeO [OP] » Jun 18 2010, 8:42pm

This is probably a "duh" question, but for some reason GM doesn't show my style of wheel in the section on removing the wheels in the manual that came with the truck. The lug nuts have black plastic covers on them. You wouldn't just put the lug wrench on the plastic would you? Doesn't seem right!

Actually, yes, they will come off very easily, be careful. You can probably just use the socket and twist with your hand so you don't break anything. Good Luck!

K, thanks. So the plastic covers just twist off and the lug nuts are under there?

You don't have to take the black plastic off, just loosen all of them and the plate comes off and then you take lugnuts off. You can replace those with chrome lug nuts and with alot less worry.
Thank you
