Have tried just about every kind and the drivers side never wipes completely with this “new” technology. I’ve swapped blades from passenger to driver’s side, had the windshield replaced, even rainXed the windshield and the driver’s side sill streaks as it wipes. Are these returnable if the same stuff happens? Because I really hate wasting money to get the same results.

have been running various trico wipers for several years now, although i typically picked them up from wally-world. the set on my truck were installed in early january and are still going strong.

the one drawback i've found with this style (not brand!) of wiper is winter ice buildup when its really nasty outside. i've tried several bosh options, trico's, etc and have yet to find one that wont get enough buildup on the upper shell that holds the blade itself to require stopping somewhere to remove it manually - you cant just slap the blade on the window and knock it off :( . its always under the leading edge (the bottom when horizontal) and essentially stops the unit from flexing and viola... streaks.

i suspect its primarily melt that refreezes when it collects there as microdrops (from other vehicles tires throwing slipstream, or hood melt, or even windshield melt), just like you see on the sides of the windshield where the defroster isnt getting the glass warm enough to melt the slop off. short of inventing a wiper system that has a heating element built into it (omg how much would those cost!   ) i cant imagine what design changes could be made to fix it.

that said - my next set of wipers will be another set of trico's.

You forgot the second solution that does not require a design change to the wipers. Move to where there's no snow or ice.

thats solid logic, and were i retired it might be a valid one :)

but unfortunately my business is tied to a regional market that would be hard to get into in another state. the tech networks are already in place and i was invited to be part of it at the startup level. theres also a market density issue in play as well - i have dozens of stores in my market, vs other markets that have less than 20, some are less than that too!

so for now i'm stuck picking ice off my wipers like everyone else north of the mason-dixon line in the winter until that heated wiper housing option comes available :p
