However there are exceptions to this. The HD trucks had disk rears since 2000 with the gmt800 and kept them all the way to current. Some of the 1500s in the gmt900 line also got rear disk with the max towing package.
Rear drum isn't a bad thing. They work perfectly fine, have a WAY more effective parking brake, and have less issues as they age. The rear disk, especially in the gmt800 trucks, was, and is a constant battle of fighting rusted backer plates and seized calipers. The drum brakes were way more reliable and less maintenance.

rear trucks since drums work thing back pretty change make thanks think
