A couple of times a year i have to pick up a load of wood pellets or get a ipc tote 3/4 full of fresh water from the local supplier to my place. 10 km..county driving..
Yesterday I put 30 bags of pellets..that's 1200 lbs in the bed of my long box truck and another 30 in my enclosed trailer..
Holy crap.. it squatted to an inch short of the bump stop at the rear.. I shifted the bags in the bed forward and the bags in the trailer to the back to reduce the load on the rear axle and it was marginally better..allowed me to get the load home.. but still..its a trip I need to make 3 or 4 times a year so I definitely dont want or need a 3/4 ton.. I think I need something like sumo springs.
Has anyone installed them to deal with occasional "to the limit" loads?
If so what's your opinion or are there less expensive options?
Thanks
