2014 Silverado here and in March of 2018 I had mine replaced-- Seeing as it was a major problem and they thought a recall was coming the Dealer only charged me $150 ( warranty deductible or something ) even though it was out of warranty (70K miles )--- at the Time I had a great Service guy at the dealer , he had the same truck as mine and I truly felt like he did everything he could for me . Well here we are 3 years later AC doesn't seem to be as cold as it should be so I take it in to the same dealer but different service guy and they say I need a new Condenser $200 for the part and $1200.00 in Labor.... WOW..... I am wondering if the one they put in back in 2018 was the same Crap that originally failed. Replaced a Bad Part with a Bad part.... So Frustrating

Can the condenser just be replaced or does any other part need to be replaced along with it?

The condenser is only like $200?

Known issue. Had mine replaced. There is a TSB out there showing a clamp that can be installed to prevent the condensor from cracking. But you are too late because the new condensor you get will be the new/improved design so a clamp will not be needed. Install the new condensor and drive in peace [emoji846].

The TSB applies to the owners who have the factory condensor that has not yet cracked.

I ordered the condenser from Carid. It was a GPD brand made in China but most probably are anyway. The quality looked good to me and was well packaged. It ran about $80 including shipping.
