Pollen and dust from the farm fields near me drive me crazy. I wish it would just blow off when you drive!

Yes you still have to do a full paint correction. Start to finish that car took me 6hrs. From wash, clay bar, polish, coating. And that’s waiting 1.5hrs between coats of ceramic. Or you can just clay bar and coat and just seal in all the imperfections lol.

And my truck was sitting outside all day with a lawyer of pollen on it. Just took the leaf blower to it and it all blew off.

But yes it’s another diy kit, but it’s reasonably priced, lasts a while, and very very easy to apply.

Our 2015 Impala had a paint correction and System X ceramic 2 year coating applied back in October 2019. I haven't been very good to the car at all with cleaning or anything for the last year or so and it still looks pretty damn good.
I didn't believe the hype in the ceramic coatings but I do now. It really does clean easier as even a rain storm cleans it pretty damn good. Water still beads up good on it as well.
I believe we paid $650 which yea is high but with correction and the way it looked and still looks I think it was worth it. Over $1,000? Nope

Avalon king ceramic coat.

Postby ferraiolo1 [OP] » Apr 30 2021, 2:13am

I can see $1000 from a shop. My truck took 8hrs of my time. Plus supplies.

But that did that paid over $3k for a coating on a new truck was still soft headed lol.

I did my neighbors car for a nice Italian dinner with drinks. So I got a few hundred out of it.

I’ve got a Dirtbike trip this weekend. So the truck will get dirty. I’ll get a vid of me washing it off if I remember.

I have a friend who used to have a detailing business. Now he just does it on the side.

But for a fullsize truck, he charged around $1000 for a full correction and ceramic coat. Not sure what brand he used though.

I debated on buying some of this stuff when you had first mentioned it. I saw it on one of the YouTube channels I follow as well. I need to do a correction on my truck before I go full on ceramic coat though. At this point I need to wait until the pollen stops, and then do it at work one weekend where it can be inside.

I just ordered some of this stuff. I spent yesterday clay baring and peeping the paint. my truck lucky does not need very much paint prep. I have been the only one to wash it by hand since it was new. Thanks for the info on this stuff!

Please post pics of you "peeping" the paint. I am curious what that entails...
