Anyone know of a good product for removing the carbon from exhaust tips?

I use some ss polish I got from Borla. Works really well. Probably any similar product will do good.

Borla exhaust. Love the sound...but tips are rusting

If it has really heavy carbon you can use 0000 steel wool with soapy water. Use the Never Dull afterwards.

That is metal and not plastic right?

I actually used the polish with some red scotch brite pad. It hazed them some but the back side of my tips are really bad. I would assume those trim pieces are a chrome plated metal due to the heat they see. But you can still scratch chrome. The black should come off pretty easily from them.

I'm assuming it is metal but honestly I've never checked.

I got most of it off pretty easy but it's got a little that is being stubborn.
