Don't give up on interior trim

Don't give up on interior trim

Postby FoxProDenali [OP] » Nov 12 2020, 10:10pm

Over time we all know the inter trim pieces get hammered, even with regular cleaning.

I used the Wolfgang headlight restore system on my center console cup holder piece with pretty good results. I didn't go after the deeper scratches since those would have to be compounded by hand, but it did the job I was looking for. It's not brand new, but it'll do!

What have you guys done that worked best for you?

Thanks.

Only takes a few minutes with the drill. Easier to pop the pieces out than tape off the other trim do it in the truck.

You can get the mini foam pads at any auto parts store. Any polish should work. I just happened to have the Wolfgang kit handy. Plus with an Si02 coating you should get a little UVA blocking effect.

For the Denali trim, the end result is more of a real wood gloss and less of an imitation plastic look.

For sure. I was going to vinyl wrap everything cause I hated looking at the wear and tear, but I'm glad I did this instead.

If I did it again, I'd just clamp my dual action polisher with a heavy cut pad to the bench and then run each piece over it on speed 3 or so to keep the pad from getting hot.
