Ferraiolo1s detailing adventure

Ferraiolo1s detailing adventure

Postby ferraiolo1 [OP] » Jul 12 2017, 11:19pm

With an increasing sense of ocd I have gotten worse with trying to keep my truck clean. So here are some things I tried. Since I'm no professional none of it is perfect.

I bought the truck in the winter of 2015 so it never had a chance. And by summer of 2016 it was all scratched up. So early spring of 2017 I bought a chemical guys torq starter buffing kit with their V series polishes. After finishing doing their two finder steps I was never ready satisfied since you could still see some swirl marks no matter how long I spent on it.

I left if go until now when I ordered the chemical guys foam cannon and honeydew foam. So I wanted a clean slate, for this "superior washing method". started reading up on this griots complete compound and figured I would give it a try for how cheap it was. And hot dang did I bring the shine out. The compound, chem guys black light seal, and Adams butter wax all took about 4 hours to do start to finish.

Now to see how well this new foam stuff works.

Purchased this 1600psi 1.2gpm washer, since one they use at their shop as well as a chem guy super drying towel

A leaf blower works better for drying... No touch, no swirls...

Except most of those don't have filters on them so you potentially be blasting abrasive dust at your paint

True and true. I some times use one on my bike. They make special blowers for that application though.

You'll have to do a comparison of the foam cannon that came with the pressure washer vs the Chemical Guys foam cannon.
