EGT Sensors

EGT Sensors

Postby Soxcal [OP] » Oct 12 2020, 2:15am

While towing my 5th wheel today I had the check engine light come on. Shortly later the truck enter reduced power mode. Luckily I was able to make it off the freeway and into a gas station. Got a ride to an auto part store and got a reader. Had code P0546 EGT Sensor circuit high Bank 1 Sensor 1. I reset the code but it kept returning. Autozone has a few different part numbers but none of them labeled as Sensor 1. Any idea on the correct part number and location of it. Any idea what the ohms are suppose to read out to verify it? Any help appreciated.

Sensor 1 is in the downpipe right after the turbo.

There is a total of 4 EGT sensors on the truck. 1st one is in the downpipe, 2nd one is after the DOC, 3rd is after the DPF, and the 4th is after the SCR.

As for part number, any of the GM parts websites will list them. Id only get a genuine ACdelco part. Aftermarket electronics are junk most of the time.
