Catch Can vs Tune

Which first?

I just ordered a JLT for $149.

Side note, does a catch can void warranty? I know the tune would and understand the need to return to factory prior to taking it in once you have one.

This can has been amazing with what it collects.
Just replace the lines as the ones that come with it are crap.
Also gently remove the connectors from either end of the existing hose and use them for your new connections.

good call on doing the catch can first. I don't believe it will void the warranty. legally, they would have to PROVE that it caused what ever issue you brought it in for. additionally, I think the corvettes have them from the factory.

I never removed my catch can when going in for warranty work. Tune yes, catch can no. Dealer said he didn't care...

This is from my 2020 RST 15k miles. Not as much as I was getting with my 2016.

Definitely catch can first. Not only for what it catches but if you have ever seen how dirty intake valves on a DI engine are after only 50k miles it is incredible. With no gasoline to clean them off regularly they get gummed up very quickly. My dad has pulled heads to clean intake valves on engines with less than 75k miles on them due to misfires....

I bought the Diablo I3 and did a DiabLew Tune at 8000 mile. Before I got so irritated with the lag to V4, I ran in manual gears till I ponied up the 295.00 for the unit. But I never lost oil.

I don’t have an AFM engine but why are people buying trucks with it if it’s so bad? I don’t get it.

because otherwise there would be about 7 Silverado's on the road that arent diesel. ok i'm exaggerating a bit.. maybe 8 of them

what i'm getting at is AFM is the *standard* engine configuration for the 5.3L... and the 5.3 is basically the standard engine for the Silverado line... so for the vast majority of us out there - that being all of us who cant afford to custom order a new truck without it - we basically dont have a choice on weather or not we want an AFM.

At least until the AFM kabooms and you rebuild your engine anyway.... been there ... burned that t-shart.
