Cleaning Radiator and Condenser

Cleaning Radiator and Condenser

Postby TheMightyWhitey [OP] » Aug 10 2020, 9:43pm

How do y'all do it???

With prior trucks, I'd just take the garden hose and spray it from the engine compartment toward the front of the truck.

Just axing if there's anything I need to watch for while doing this.

Danke.

Don't bend the fins.....and if you do, invest in some fin combs. They're available at refrigeration suppliers.

Depending on how badly packed they are, I will pull the radiator, cac, condenser, etc and clean it off the vehicle.

If it's mostly light dirt and dust I use an air comb. They work great for light, and dry debris.

For heavier dirt and other debris, I will use a wide fan tip on the pressure washer and make sure to stay back a good bit. I spray the fins dead on straight and work back and forth until the water running through them is clear and no more dirt comes out.

You just need to be careful with the pressure washer not to fold the fins over. But I've never had an issue, and its the best way to get them the cleanest they can be.
