Me too. Did you remove that thing yet just to see if it is causing an issue?

And it's only after you flash the tune that it starts to mess up?

If that's the case that would lead me to believe it is the tuner or tune causing it. And your just trying the regular canned tune right? Without modifying any of the parameters to try and get the most base tune as possible.

He already got another tuner and the tune comes on the new tuner.

I know. But it seems extremely odd that it would be just fine on the stock tune and only mess up with the diablo tunes. Would tell me the ecm and truck is fine and it is an issue in the tuner or tunes. That is the only variable here. Well other than the throttle fooler which may or may not still be installed.

When troubleshooting you always start at the source. Which in this case is the ecm. And since it seems to work fine (from what I gather) on the stock calibration, and only acts up with the tune, it would tell me either the tune or tuner is the issue, or the ecm is failing when flashed. Which again I dont feel can be the case since when flashed back to stock its fine.

Eric, and all who responded...
With the "old" I3 (for lack of a better term,) I got the codes after I installed the 87 tune, and then I immediately restored the factory tunes and got the codes again. The Vitesse, as you pointed out, was connected. During that event I yanked the connector out of the I3, and subsequently sent it back for repair. I have the replacement I3, but was waiting for the dealer to do whatever they did today before trying to reinstall the tunes again.
I will probably do it this weekend.....This time, I'm leaving the Vitesse disconnected, and making sure that everything is turned off. I'm even going to pull the fuse on my Kicker Key Amp, as the dealer said they saw some random audio codes.
It's all a big mystery to me, but I'm going to try again.

Ah ok so you haven't tried it with the new i3 yet then.

Hopefully that does it for you.

Had some alone time this afternoon, so I figured I would attempt a tune install using the warranty replacement I3 Powerteq sent me. I was kind of worried because history wasn't on my side.

Went out to the truck. Disconnected the Vitesse, pulled the fuses for my Kicker Amp and Power Steps. Disconnected my mileage minder. Turned off EVERYTHING, even the Bluetooth on my phone.

Happy to say installation went flawlessly. No problems....
I guess I'll never know if it was the truck, old I3, Vitesse, or anything else. Anyway, 150 miles to Lew!

Thanks y'all, for all your contributions and support on this thread!!!
