Wiring information required

Wiring information required

Postby UKChevy [OP] » Jan 05 2015, 5:40pm

Hi all,

Based in the UK so information is difficult to find here..

I have a 2000 Silverado 3500 Diesel and would really like to see a wiring diagram, particularly in the headlamp region as I have lost dipped beam and need to rectify this.

Could anyone perhaps point me in the right direction to where I could find a pdf online?

Many thanks in advance,

Nick

I have access to good wiring diagrams, but I am not sure what dipped beam is. Us crazy 'Mericans speak a funny form of English. Is this what we call low beams?

Hi Greg

Yes, sorry, low beams! I have main beam working fine, but have no low-beams. Looks like this is a common problem, but I'm a bit reluctant to put a permanent ground to the low beams, which I know, will put all four elements on together, trying to avoid that scenario if possible.

Many thanks for your quick response!

Regards

Nick

I can also get you any wiring diagrams you need.

I can only get them for the US sold trucks though.

Not sure if the UK ones are any different (other than maybe RHD)

Thanks for response.
The vehicle is US supplied, only over here as it has been used by US Forces over here.
So it is year 2000, 6500 Diesel crew cab single rear wheel Silverado.
Any wiring info would be appreciated particularly in the indicator switch region, (model with cruise control)
Thanks
Nick

I'll see what I can get you.

I can get the diagrams from the switch to the headlight then the diagram for the multi switch (the stalk on the steering wheel)

This is from a 2005 Pontiac. But the wire colors are the same for GM trucks.
