2013 Key Fob programming

Postby PMEDIC9 [OP] » May 08 2019, 2:18am

I have seen conflicting information about Key Fob for my 2013 Sierra 1500 with DIC. Is it possible for me to buy one off of Ebay or Amazon and program it myself or am I forced to go to the dealer and pay them?

You can buy one and do it yourself. I paid $10 for a fob from Amazon, had it programmed in 30 seconds, Came with instructions, pretty simple.

Yes, your 2013 needs to be programmed and you cannot do it yourself. But, you can buy a kit made by Dorman that has the fob and a programming device that will program up to three FOB's and it costs about $60 on Amazon. Otherwise, you need to go to a dealer and it will likely cost you well over $100 for the FOB and programming.

without Remote Start: https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-99161-Key ... 1-fkmrnull

Yep, that is pretty typical for a dealer.

Awesome. Glad to hear that and glad that you saved a bunch of money by not having to go to the dealer.
