Door lock buttons don't work. Have to use fob to lock/unlock

Postby Calamity Joe [OP] » Dec 23 2016, 10:07pm

Here's an oddball problem, none of the buttons work to lock/unlock the truck on the doors but if I use the fob it does. So to me I think that means the actuator work but no idea why the button on both sides of the doors don't. Any ideas whats up with this?

Check the 3A MIR/LCK fuse in the dash fusebox, it powers the door lock switches.

The door lock receiver and BCM have separate power circuits.

Check your fuse and relays for the PL.
If they're good I'd check the drivers door PL switch for power & good clean contacts. I remember the DS switch going bad in my 2002 Silverado and the passenger door switch would only work if the driver side was working correctly.

Checked the fuse and found it was bad, then changed it but that opened up new problems. The drivers side buttons will lock but won't unlock. The lock will still work if use passenger side button or fob. Possible it's a bad switch. The passenger side works but have to hit the unlock button 2x or hold to get the passenger door lock to fully slide to unlock.

DS may be either a bad switch or a broken white wire in the door harness. Test light at the switch on the white wire and work the switch, if the test light lights most likely a broken wire.

Does the PS unlock OK with the remote or is it still slow? The orange wire at the switch is 12V all the time, the white wire triggers the unlock relay, and the light blue wire triggers the lock relay. Could be a bad relay causing the sluggishness but the remote should work the same.
