I have a 2004 1500 that is doing something similar to this, my gauges shut off and when they do the windows quit working and the door locks as well. I have spent several hundred dollars with my local chevy dealer and they have yet to find the answer. I also questioned the ignition switch issues creating the problem although the truck has never shown any signs of problems starting or the way the truck runs. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I know your post is older, but I have to ask what your problem ended up being? Im having similar issues and have ran out of ideas. My issue is so bad a GM Tech 2 wont even communicate with my truck.

I don't know I think it was a water leak on my cab lights, I sealed them up and had no issues since.
