i am looking for a decent/ good 3 way connector that i can use to splice into my trailer hitch wiring/ tail light wiring for my auxiliary rear tail lights that im adding.. I do NOT want to use scotch locks or anything similar. I also dont want them to use the main plug for the trailer hitch wiring. Im trying to be neat and refrain from unsightly wiring messes... these are LED lights ( reverse and stop)

You would be wise to use relays rather than trying to leech power off existing circuits.

either way i will still need power from somewhere and not running a power line from the battery or firewall all the way back to the trailer hitch area when i have available power right there

[img][img][/img][/img]I don't know what LED strip you are using but if your strip doesn't have separate sections for directionals your LEDs will blink when using either of your directionals as well as when you apply the brakes. The brake lights are energized by combining both left and right directional circuits at the front of the truck. There is a "module" that can be added to the harness at the back of the truck that will combine both L and R directionals for lighting a brake light that is often used to power the high brake light on a bed cap. These modules are prone to failure. On earlier trucks, ex. my 2001 2500HD, there was a brake light pigtail near the back of the hitch plug that was provided for this purpose.
I added a hitch light to my 2020 Canyon that was both stop and tail light. I had to run a wire from the HMBL relay to the back of the truck.

Roorancher: That is a good point. I changed the plug on my 2013 to the 7 pin round and 4 pin flat dual plug. Took 20 minutes. I use the 4 pin to power my LED tailgate spoiler when I am not using it to hook up my utility trailer which has the 4 pin flat plug.

I dont want that connector.. I want my wiring closed and ready for a trailer. I got a water proof distribution block that I can connect the wiring straight to and be neat about it

This will work fine if the LED strip has directional segments. If the LED light/strip is a single element used as a brake light and plugged into the flat 4 connector, the LED will blink when one of the directional signals are activated.
