If you purchased the FOB from eBay you'll need your original FOB's. Did it come with remote start? If it didn't then that FOB will not activate it.
When the replacement transmitter is programmed to this vehicle, all remaining transmitters must also
be reprogrammed. Any lost or stolen transmitters will no longer work once the new transmitter
is programmed.

I think with the newest NNBS trucks you cannot program either the FOBs or the Keys.

That is what I thought. I guess GM found they could make a lot of money by forcing us to have them do the programming.

Starting in 2011 you cannot program a new key fob without a scan tool.

GM:
If the owner of a 2011 Impala, Escalade model, Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, Sierra, Yukon, Yukon Denali, Yukon XL, or Yukon Denali XL requests to have a Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter (key fob) programmed, a scan tool must be used. This does not apply to Impala and Tahoe fleet vehicles.
