Running/ parking lights. HELP

Running/ parking lights. HELP

Postby Duke1500 [OP] » Apr 17 2016, 2:42am

I have a 2008 Silverado. Where can I find a parking light wire in the cab that does not dim with controls. I'm trying to wire cab lights on the roof. What wire can I connect to? I tried the headlight switch and just about everything short of going through the fire wall.

The parking lights at the fuse block is where I'd pull from.

I'll be done when I'm finished, if that's not fast enough, take a number!

Well.. Your best bet is to test ALL wires that exit your light switch and see which has power when you turn on your lights, then see if it dims. It'll show on the test light if you're using one.

I personally would pull trigger power from a marker light myself or the fuse block either for headlamps, or park lamps. It'll be the easiest route and can have the relay, power, ground, trigger wire all in the engine bay and only run one wire into the cab. Which could be pushed through the firewall - cab grommet.
