I would second BG 44K platinum. It is the strongest fuel cleaner on the market. You can go to www.bgfindashop.com to see where you can buy locally. If you want more info on it here is a link. https://www.bgprod.com/catalog/gasoline ... m-cleaner/

I've used BG44K, Seafoam and Techron in my 2018 Silverado 5.3 and other GM vehicles and I believe they all help as a fuel cleaner. IMO BG44K is very strong and I have gotten good results on rough idling engines. Occasional use of a fuel cleaner is better than none at all.

And we should all remember, clogged fuel injectors, stuck lifters and sticky valves did not happen overnight. So don't expect that a quick dose of any of these will miraculously solve these problems.

It'll take time, a few doses of these detergents and the continued purchase of higher quality fuel to solve these problems.

Now that ^^^ really surprises me. He lumps Shell into the same category as the discount brands. Very interesting, I wonder where he gets the proof to back that up? I would expect the discount brands to use "crap gas/additives", but I wouldn't expect that from Shell. Thanks for posting. ;)

he told me that when he is looking at data logs, he can typically tell when someone uses shell because he sees so much knock idiot in the data

The majority of Top Tier gasoline detergents are "amines." For example, Chevron uses Polyetheramine (PEA) under their patented brand name, Techron. Other amines include Polybuteneamine (PBA) and Polyisobutyleneamine (PIBA).

I use Techron in all my vehicles at least once a year. Every 3K miles I use Gumout, which uses both PBA and PIBA amines. If I used Top Tier gasoline, I wouldn't bother. But Top Tier, brand name gas is a bit pricey out in my neck of the woods, and I mostly fill up at Maverick and Come-n-Go places in Wyoming. I've never experienced a fuel-related problem.

Never had a fuel related issue in any of my Chevy trucks. I assume its because I do use Top Tier fuel.
