Corsa Disappointment

So if you floored it, you got a loud pop under full throttle with the factory exhaust?

I never ran mine hard with the factory exhaust...

That makes me feel better.
So it is just a combination of pig rich full throttle and torque management.

edit meant to say torque management during upshifts

Yes. It’s how the 14+ trucks are. The auto camaro and corvettes are the same way.

This is my truck with headers and the sport muffler. This wasn't quite full throttle, but pretty close.

Note, my truck is not as loud anymore. It's now just a tad louder than the sport was on the stock manifolds.

What I hear with this Corsa db is way, way, way louder than that.
Sounds like an old piece of sh*t backfiring.

I had a Corsa Sport on my 2015 f150 5.0 and sounded like the chevy in the video,
never bothered me a bit, also had zero drone at any time.

Last truck was a 2018 f150 5.0, had a Borla Stype, was louder than the Corsa, popped only very slightly
zero drone, loved the sound.

But this GMC with the Corsa db drones like a bitch and pops like you fired a hand gun.
I hope the new muffler Corsa is sending takes care of this, because right now it seriously sucks.

Hey thanks for posting these guys, just saw yours trax.

What I hear in mine is a sharper pop about like a backfire.
From the video, your truck seems to have more of what I would call of crackle to it( not trying to be smart).
It doesn't sound off to me, for a vehicle with headers and a catback exhaust.

Mine sounds terrible.
Corsa told me that I could have got a bad muffler, hoping the new muffler cures it.
I'll let everybody know.

Yes, before the headers mine was a pop.

The headers totally change the sound. But I can assure you, the pop is normal and they all do it. My father's 2018 which is stock motor wise, and a corsa sport does it just the same as my truck did.

It’s especially apparent if you’re driving along a barrier or wall. The sound waves bounce back into the cab. I enjoy it. Sounds like a quick shifter.

Okay,
I guess it is normal then.

I really appreciate all the replies.

Re: Corsa Disappointment

Got my new muffler today,
they sent me a Corsa Sport.

The drone at cruise is almost entirely gone, still drones while accelerating between 1500-2000 rpm,
enough that I am glad I didn't shell out $1000.00 for the Corsa Sport exhaust instead of the db.
The drone while accelerating isn't enough to make your ears bleed, but is just not a good sound.
Between 1500-2000 rpm or so, acceleration sounds like several old trucks I had in the past that I threw a Magnaflow on
for 150 bucks.

Maybe these engines just have a tendency to drone, my 2015 f150 5.0 sounded beautiful with the Corsa Sport,
there was not one one iota of unpleasant sound anywhere in the power band.
Ditto my 2018 5.0 with a Borla S type.

Interestingly, I found a review of the Corsa Sport system for 2014-2018 Silverados on youtube
by American Trucks, they described the Corsa Sport system as having MINIMAL drone in the cab.

Oh well, I'll probably end up getting a GM Performance by Borla system,
seems like the only complaints about that one are that it is too quiet.

Yes. The 07+ gm engines are very sensitive to mufflers and drone for some reason.

Don’t ask me why
