Where to have new exhaust tips exit

Where to have new exhaust tips exit

Postby Aaron Kempton [OP] » Apr 26 2021, 1:11am

So I bought a new bumper, and had to remove my exhaust tips, as they no longer fit. I was just going to buy new tips, but this seemed like a golden opportunity to go with a new flowmaster muffler instead.

So, my question, with the bumper I now have, where should I have my dual pipes exit?

Skip the drone master and get a good muffler.

But if your still wanting the dual rear exit, and don't want to put lights back there, coming out where the two square cutouts are would look good with the right tips.

A set of custom, stainless, pentagonal exhaust tips where the lights are would be exceedingly cool. There has got to be a way to mount some sort of high temp led inside the exhaust tips for backup lights.

I would put then on just behind the rear tires out on 45 degrees.

Really hoping there’s no drone sound from the flowmaster, but I appreciate all the feedback. I’m putting on the lift, wheels, and tires now. Going to start a build thread.

Aside from a few hearty fanboys, don't hold your breath on that. There are also much better sounding systems, but you get what you pay for...

Post some video when you get the Flowmaster put on. Hard to beat the nice deep sound of a Flowmaster. You probably will have some drone but it depends on how much of a sensitive guy you are, we have quite a few sensitive ones on here  . I had some drone with a Super 40 on my 02 but it was mostly in town and not terrible. On the highway it was pretty much not there. Not sure how a newer truck would be however.

As for the tips, I agree with badbruin and have them out at the sides.

I have Super10s on my truck and I barely notice any drone if any at all. I hear my tires more than anything.

I ended up exiting both tips around my spare, and absolutely love the way it looks.
I will post a video so you can hear it as soon as I can hit up to 85 on the highway, but so far there is no drone.

Can you get the sound of it idling and then revving it up at idle?
