2015 Mirrors on a 2013 Silverado 1500

2015 Mirrors on a 2013 Silverado 1500

Postby Nash [OP] » Oct 10 2019, 1:35am

Hey so I see all these guys running tow mirrors from the 2014+ trucks on the 2007.5-2013 trucks and I assumed the 1500 mirrors would work as well so I bought 2015 half ton mirrors and I see now they don't match up at all is there a certain year that has a different bracket that fits or is the 2014+ 1500 mounts just completely different from the 2500 and 3500? Any help would be much appreciated thanks

No you need to get the mirrors that are made for your year. They have the correct bases on them as well as the correct plugs in order to work without modifications.

You can go from the cheap ebay mirrors to the boost auto mirrors.

In my opinion the boost auto mirrors are way over priced, since they are nearly the same as OEM. But since OEM isn't an option for you, they are the choice I'd go with.

Yeah the mirrors off the K2xx trucks have 4 bolts that hold them on instead of 3. But the trim piece is a different shape and the connectors are different.

Could probally make them work but if the mirrors you bought are OEM then you can probably sell them and buy the right ones for not much more money.

Those are the mirrors I'm working with they're only 3 bolt but a much wider distance between them just wasn't sure if there was an adaptor where I could change it on the folding hinge or somethingalpng those lines to fit mine

Oh you are wanting to put the regular mirrors on.

I thought you were talking about the k2xx tow mirrors.

I cant say I've ever seen a company make the regular mirrors for the older trucks. I have seen guys modify those mirrors to fit though. Not sure if they swapped the mounts or what but they looked decent when done.

I've seen them on the gmt900 and gmt800 trucks. Look decent on the 900s but kind of odd on the 800s unless it's the right truck.
