Driver's Side Tow Mirror Turn Signal LED's Stay On

I installed aftermarket tow mirrors on my 08 Silverado this past Summer. The tow mirrors are power adjust, heated and have the LED turn signals in the mirror glass. Over the past week or so, I've noticed that 4 of the LED's in my driver's side mirror tend to stay partially lit when the turn signal is not in use. I was wondering if anyone else had run into this problem and has come up with a fix. I'm not that electrically knowledgeable, but I'm thinking that possibly the LED's are grounding out inside the mirror? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

Did you wire in the turn signals or was it plug and play?

It does sound like something inside has grounded. Were these low cost ones from eBay or what? May be a pain to open them up and figure it out...and probably no chance at any sort of warranty no matter who you bought them from.

Yeah, they weren't the highest priced ones, but they weren't cheap either. I'll try and contact the company to see if they can offer me any type of swap or anything. Can't hurt to try. The weather is changing here in Western NY, so taking them apart without a heated garage may not happen right now. If I could get them apart and see that it is a ground issue, I could fix the problem then silicone the crap out of the back of the mirror where the LED wiring is. Wondering if they weren't weather tight originally and water got into the LED wiring. :x

I would certainly try and contact them if possible. You never know.

What brand are they? I ordered a pair of DEDC tow mirrors heated, electric with LED blinkers. I've had them on for about 9 months without issue.
Then last week we had a major rain, 6". The next day my passenger side signal was weak and a couple of the lights weren't working at all.

This lasted about two days, now they are all working. I ordered from Amazon, cheaper mirrors made in China. Im kind of chalking it up to "you get what you pay for". I believe I payed about $160 for the pair. Im hoping that was a one time incident, not holding my breath though.

Mine were right around the same price. Different brand from Amazon. They had 4 star reviews from around 80+ people, so I went with them. This is the only incident to date, otherwise great mirrors. What's funny is that the seller actually sent me 2 sets of mirrors off the same invoice. When I told them what had happened, they said it wasn't possible. I even sent them a pic of the unopened box and the new tow mirrors on my truck. Still didn't believe me. So, I decided to keep the extra set as back-ups in case anything were to happen to the set on my truck. Unfortunately, money got tight one month and I decided to sell the extra set.... I may get brave and pop the top mirror off and look at the wiring, but it would suck if I broke the mirror getting it off. Anyway, I guess I will deal with my issue as it stands for now. Thanks for the positive comments...
