Preview of a BullRings Option for bed tie downs

Preview of a BullRings Option for bed tie downs

Postby weaselbeak [OP] » Jun 23 2020, 4:20am

I made a video (with my cellphone) of some BullRings I ordered so I could better secure tarps in the bed of my truck.

You can find it here:

The Bull rings are super handy and give a nice clean look. On later model trucks you can add them to the inside bed walls also (slightly different style and size) and gives you even more anchor points.

Typically there are cutouts in the lower four corners of a drop in liner that give access to the factory welded anchor points in there. You may need to cut out those areas to access, but depending on depth...they can be hard to access through the holes.

Thanks for the response Neal-you have one of the cleanest trucks I've seen.

I thought there looked to be cutouts in the drop in liner but I was worried about getting water and stuff trapped between the bed and the liner. I imagine that's one benefit of the spray in liner.

I've heard that comment over and over about getting water trapped between liner and bed. I've never seen proof of that happening (I didn't look for proof either). I personally owned a truck with a drop-in liner for 8 years and never a hint of rust in the bed.

As far as tie-downs above the load vs at the bottom of the load, it seems things would be more secured having more of the load under rope, but that's just an opinion. However, you did cover those pesky, ugly stake pockets that are a staple feature to every real pickup truck.
