Rust Converter

Rust Converter

Postby B13ecker [OP] » May 05 2014, 11:16pm

I have some small amount of rust on frame of 11 Silverado, but I am trying to prevent rust early, but has anyone used rust converter. If so what brand, and what process did you do it in?

POR15 is not a rust converter, but it's still OK to use.

Just brush off loose rust and apply as directed. Great product. Probably best if you wanted to do your whole frame and some do. If not maybe try east woods rust encapsulator. Still just scrape the loose stuff off and spray. Maybe someone else has some suggestions. There is a bulletin out about the wax coatings falling off. Might be able to get GM to redo it.
