Tail gate handle

Tailgate latch mechanism epidemic

Tail gate handle

Postby Agent Fawk [OP] » Jun 19 2010, 2:34am

I have owned my GMC Sierra for a couple months now. I love this truck. There are a few things that worry me about it. One in particular, that hasn't happened to me yet, is the tail gate latch. I have noticed so many tail gate handles on chevy/sierras that have missing parts. My friend has a 2002 silverado and he has to use pliers to open his. Has anyone had these issues or noticed all the trucks that do? It's an epidemic!

Understood. But, there is a sudden urge pulsating through my body to yank the shiz out of it so my woahman(woman) thinks it's broken. If it's broken, it needs to be replaced with a shiny chrome handle :D
So, is that all it is, the plastic around the handle? That doesn't explain why my friend has to perform surgery to get his open.

well when you brake your handle there is two latches to pull so i guess it would be easier to open with plies mine broke and i just pulled them with my hands but pliers would work
