I'm looking for information on a bolt on kit to make raising and lowering my tail gate easier. My vehicle is an 07 Sierra Classic

I've been thinking about trying one of these kits but not sure if it's worth the $70

I installed one of these on my Titan. It didn't help with lowering, it just made it so you could raise your tailgate with one finger. It was really cheesy and I wouldn't recommend it.

My Silverado came with the tailgate thingy. It helps putting it up but not putting it down. It still goes "SLAM" if it slips.

You can get the lowering shock at O'Reilly Parts for 30 dollars. I got the torsion bar to help lifting the tailgate and the shock for lowering. Easy to close and does not slam down when opening. Worth the money.

I had one of these on my last truck and it does help so it does not slam down. It does nothing for raising it, but it's not hard to raise anyways. The down side is that you will get so use to it that when you open someone else's tailgate you can guarantee that you will slam theirs every time  If you do a little searching around google or maybe even amazon I bet you can find one for $40 or less ;)

Here's a quick search $45
