Recommendation for Atlanta Ga tuners…

Postby Super [OP] » Feb 26 2020, 1:37am

I'm looking for recommendations for local Atlanta tuners capable of handling FI.

I have a 2016 Silverado 5.3 with a Whipple Supercharger installed that needs tuning. Its been tuned by Whipple and a local Atlanta tuner but I am still having some tuning issues that I need assistance with.

Thanks

Vengeance racing is probably your best bet in Georgia. Don’t know how far they are from Atlanta but they can handle the Gen5 stuff. What problems are you having? The stock whipple tunes seem to be interesting from what I have seen.

I'm having issues with surging and apparently, it’s a common issue with the LT1 based engines according to Whipple. I don't want to bash anyone publicly but the above mentioned tuner has already tuned it and can't resolve the surging issues. Their tune definitely made more power but the drivability wasn't there.

As far as what I'm calling surging: Full throttle is fine. When I give 10-50ish % throttle... when the vacuum turns to boost it surges to sometimes full throttle and then it backs off. Driving leisurely at highway speeds it surges quite often as vacuum to boost happens when hills and such are involved. Apparently its all about torque calculations and it's different in the newer gen systems.

That’s what I was afraid of. The virtual torque tables are not fun to mess with.

Yeah I'm finding that out... The current Whipple tune somewhat has it under control but its just been de-tuned enough to make it bearable.

What map sensor are you running? Is it a stock sensor or a 2-3bar sensor?

Well damn. Yea you need real help at this point. Try making a new thread to see how has a whipple blower and who tuned it. Maybe someone on here has had better luck. The only other people I know is rpm motorsports and Fasterproms. They are not in Georgia.

Are you still fighting this? I may have found a newly added table that may be limiting your throttle due to how fast the torque increases.

If you have not gotten it fixed by now i got another vote for RPM (race proven motorsports) but they aren't local to you, seems they do a decent amount of whipples on camaros though so they may could get you a better tune.

Fast forward to 12:00
