True "plug and play" LEDs?

True "plug and play" LEDs?

Postby jham0077 [OP] » Aug 10 2020, 2:56am

I put Sylvania LED bulbs in all my exterior lights. I am now experiencing the hyper blinking with the turn signals. I found what claims to be bulbs that do not require resistors.

I'm not excited about wiring in resistors so I think these may be my choice.
Has anyone found plug and play bulbs somewhere else?

Those look like they will work. I decided to just stick with standard bulbs on my turn signals and just not bother and incur the extra expense. If you decide to get them...post up a review reply on this thread.

You always want something that mentions that has Canbus so, it prevents the hyperlinking or the system thinking that the bulb is out due to the lower resistance of the bulbs. But just like Neal, I have stayed away from replacing my turn signals for that reason.

I will for sure. I got money tied up in the Sylvania flashy bulbs. And good ol' GM didn't make it the easiest to swap the front bulbs...the grill has to come out. So I'll probably wait till the new ones come in before I return the others. Unless its gonna be more than a week....pull the grill twice for bulb changes...

From what I've read... CanBus will NOT prevent hyperflash itself, but it will prevent the truck from thinking you have a bad light... Maybe their "SMARTCanBus" is different...but usually the resistors would need plenty of open air to dissipate the heat they generate.

Resistors or a BCM flash are your only options...and a BCM flash is cost prohibitive...

Slooooowwww to ship. They keep pushing the ship date and of course the arrival date moves also. Guess I'll pull the Speedy Gonzales bulbs tomorrow and return them, put originals back in it for a while.
