Those are too cool Chris!

You have to wonder why GM could not extend the duct just a bit and angle it upward to correct the problem after so many years and models.

Kind of figures your an Aircraft Mechanic, (I'm guessing Southwest because you're in Dallas?) I was an Aircraft mechanic by trade, as well. I am always amazed at how many of the modifications that I have done not only to vehicles of all types, but in my construction projects and other areas had their foundation in aircraft repair. The tools still always come in handy as well...

I'd love to have a set.....Not urgent....Just put me in line.

WOW! Just got back in from doing another "[email protected]$$" fix, thanks to Chris!
The other day I had noticed some surface rust on the bottom seat frame in the other GM vehicle and couldn't figure out where it came from since the interior has never been wet. Yep, the cramped-up vents had been putting condensation on the seat frame! And the Weathertech rear mat flange didn't help matters, either. Notched out the flange, widened the vent opening with some plastic and rubber mat; GTG!

Check under your seats. Now you'll know why they might be rusty. Much, much thanks to Chris for the heads-up vent inspection.
Oh, welcome to the forum, too!

That's a great idea and good work on the manufacturing.

Never even knew my truck (2014) had them. Drivers side was mashed down so nothing came out and the passenger side was carpeted over. Great idea you have with the product you made. I think for now I will be placing a 3/4” or 1” nut (stood up) in the center to see if doing so makes a difference on flow. Heck, just digging them out from under the carpet is sure to help plenty.

I had a buddy of mine print up a set of the Vent deflectors that 737mechanic designed so I installed them on my lunch break.

Don't mind the dirty floors, I've actually been using the truck to transport people and things around...

this is what I have thought of doing. mine are free and clear of the carpet, but are kind of pinched shut in the middle

Some libraries have 3d printers and will charge a small fee to print. Once all the panic dies down I might have the library print these off.
