Need to replace front bolster in my 2003 Silverado 2500HD

Postby zruvalcaba [OP] » Jul 21 2021, 6:53pm

As mentioned in the new user introductions....I'm new here. Just picked up this 2003 Silverado 2500 HD with 123,000 miles on it for $2500. The plan is to give it to my son second son who's about to start driving. My oldest son got a 2015 Silverado so my second son is getting shafted it appears.
This truck needs some TLC but nothing major. It runs great and doesn't leak a drop of anything. My first task is to replace the front driver's side bolster. I have no idea what color cloth this is nor how to remove the old one. Any guidance on those two questions is appreciated. Thanks.

There are long plastic hooks, that run the length of each side that hold it on. Just reach under and you will feel them. Foam and covers should be available on eBay.

Your RPO codes on the glovebox sticker will have the interior color among them. IIRC under the front of the seat, there are two 13mm bolts and then the cushion slides out.

Thanks for the tips. Here is the sticker. Can you make heads or tails of the color cloth from this?

Are you interested in adopting another son?

I like my brother's truck.

I'm housebroken, for the most part...

69I is dark pewter. Any good auto upholstery shop should be able to repair that seat just like new.

Dark pewter answers my question on the color, thank you. I'd like to attempt to fix this myself. I'd rather not spend $200-$300 to fix this when it seems like a simple enough job to do yourself.
