Removing Raceway

Removing Raceway

Postby Dajur [OP] » Feb 04 2017, 4:11am

I need to remove the driver and passenger raceways to run some wiring. I could not figure out how to get the raceways off without breaking the tabs. I found a few videos on youtube that tell you how to do it, but I still couldn't get them off. Anyone know how to do it, or know of a good video that shows how to do it?

Use a flat blade screw driver to pry tabs open. It is on a hinge. Good luck easy to open.

I tried that and ended up breaking a tab. It has been pretty cold here lately, maybe I'll hit it with the blowdryer for a bit before trying to pry it up.

Pry from outside part of truck as hinge is on inner part as I recall.

Plastic too brittle when cold, its gonna snap. Put a heater near it or something.

I got it figured out. I was trying to push in the tab to take it off. I found that it is easier to hook the bottom of the cover and pull it out instead. Unfortunately, I can't finish my projects this weekend as we are expecting showers and heavy snow all weekend. Bah.
