Aftermarket deck issues, Bose speakers

Aftermarket deck issues, Bose speakers

Postby Moose! [OP] » Jul 15 2013, 2:27am

Hey there, I just installed a kenwood kdx-x396 deck in my truck
With the gmos-04 adapter.
Everything is installed properly, but when I turn up the volume my factory Bose system distorts and the tweeters pop and it sounds horrid, has anyone had this issue? I have tried adjusting the eq the mids treble and low range but it still distorts.
Any help would be appreciated.

Does the gmos adapter have an adjustable gain ? To match speaker levels try turning it down. So you can increase the radio volume.

No the gmos doesn't have an adjustable gain, all it has is the chime adjuster :/

Check page 6 of the GMOS-04's manual under "Audio Level Adjustment".

Yea, when I took it apart I never seen the audio gain dial in the gmos black box, I don't know if they messed up on making it.

You shouldn't have to take it apart. The trim pot should be located next to the connector and accessible by turning it with a screwdriver from the outside of the unit. If yours isn't like this I'd contact Axxess and see what they have to say.
