Front speakers great- Rear speakers whine New GM1210 Install

Postby AJWILB [OP] » May 22 2017, 5:48pm

I just installed a new CS GM 1210 Unit and everything works great except the rear speakers. They have a continuous whine/ his and this increase along with engine RPM. I have double checked all connections and wires have been inspected. I have the Bose system and need to check the Amp yet but I did make a mistake on initial hook up that I think may have popped the rear speakers? Also I can make the sound go away by turning on the Rear Audio in the center consul With that it removes this whine/hiss but does not provide rear speak sound for radio. Front door speakers and Tweeters work great and sound great! Help please!
Thanks

Yah, You should be able to use the fader function to push all the signal to the front speakers which should eliminate the noise. It sounds like you are probably right and have trashed the rears, but that sounds like a good excuse to replace them. Even some inexpensive Walmart speakers will out perform the stockers. But, You might want to find some speakers to test first, to make sure that it is the speakers. Just hook up another known good speaker to test them. It doesn't even have to be a good speaker, just one that works and you know is working.

Where did you buy the head unit?

To push all the audio to the front speakers only, follow the instructions starting on Page 55 of this PDF.

That's the next step, I have since found some modifications that the previous owner spliced and hid under the carpet and I am working to return the wiring to factory original. I will figure this out if it kills me! I bought the unit brand new from Walt at ADC Mobile and I would highly recommend him and his company! He spent 45 minutes on the phone with me yesterday walking through my harnesses and hook up procedures, Simply amazing customer service! Everything besides the rear speakers works perfectly. Amazing unit, I just need those rear's to function!
