Radio stuck on and stuck off PLEASE HELP

Postby Downlow350 [OP] » Jul 31 2020, 3:22am

Looking for some help or some input. I have a 2007 Sierra with a Kenwood deck. Deck has been in the truck since 2014. Yesterday, My radio became stuck on after I opened the door. I assumed it was just my Doorlock Switch. However, Soon enough, It shut off, and then I couldn't get it to turn back on. Then Vise Versa. Over and over. It seems like possibly it is short with the ignition because why else would it not turn back on? I pulled doors apart, Pulled deck out, Pulled ignition switch cover off, and have wiggled all wires and it makes no difference. I have considered it could be the deck, But I have never in my life had a deck do this, and I've done tons of installs.

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Try the reset on the head unit? If there is one, not sure what model you have.

I haven't tried that yet, But surely will. I just feel that there is a short in the Ignition due to the fact it still gets power even after the ignition is off. or Also doesn't get power when the ignition is on. And it is always random in both situations. UGH!

are you using a adapter box to convert from factory to aftermarket radio? Betting that went bad had the same issue a few years back on a unit that was only a few months old.. got rid of it totally and wired everything direct..

I did that. It helped for a minute. I have now found that the ACC wire (Yellow) to the radio is randomly not providing power. I can't find a short anywhere though!
