New from Oregon

Postby 7daughters [OP] » Oct 22 2011, 12:12pm

Hello, My name is Matt and I live in Oregon. I just recently purchased a 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD 2wd. I previously had a 1995 Suburban K1500, but since the kids are growing up we decided to get a truck and eventually a travel trailer.

Looks like a lot of good info and rides here.

WELCOME, Matt!
Congrats on your new truck! Should we assume by your screen name that you really have 7 daughters? If yes, I think you still need the suburban!
Glad you joined the site, and let us know how we can help make your truck experience a great one!

Yes, I actually have 7 daughters. We are a split family, my wife has 3 and I have 4 with none together. They are all growing up and moving on and that is why we got rid of the suburban. This year we have 3 graduating and will only have the youngest who will be a Jr. in high school.

I will get some pictures posted as soon as I take some. My truck is pretty plain and basic, but it is just what I wanted so I don't have to deal with anything breaking on me when we start travelling.

I am originally from Ohio and only been here in Oregon for 6 years. I love it out here and will not be going back on a permanent basis.

There are a couple little bugs with my truck I need to work out, mainly the left ball joints are bad, but it is just a matter of tackling them. I have always been a big Pontiac fan and thus a member of a couple other forums and know that these are the best places to get help and information. A lot of opinions too, but we all know what they say about those.

Thanks for the welcome and I hope to stick around and enjoy this forum.

Welcome again!
We only have 2 kids; first one is in college and the other is a sophomore in high school. So we are on that "empty nest" path as well. It's bittersweet to be sure.

Definitely enjoy the site, and let us know if ya need any help.

Hey Matt, welcome to the site. This forum is really great and very busy. I'm sure if you are a DIY'r, then you will really enjoy it. Also,if you like posting pics of your vehicle, then there is another great reason for being here; because everyone here wants to see pics of your truck also.

Hillsboro is way up there, eh? I am driving to Bend, OR in two weeks to see my brother (and take pics of the Rocky Mountains also). I love Oregon too, it's just a bit out of my price range for housing.
