New Member From Red River Country Of North Texas

Postby gilco915 [OP] » May 08 2014, 12:58am

Hi guys. I bought a nice looking 1996 Chevy Silverado extended cab I bought last year to replace my 1992 Chevy S-10. This truck sure has good torque and pulls my utility trailer easily with it's big 5.7L engine. Unforunately, I have gone through 3 engines in a year. Hopefully I will get permission to post my question later that the members of the Chevrolet Enthusiasts Forum have not been able to answer yet.

Welcome Gil from Truro Nova Scotia and that is a Great LQQKin '96 indeed ~~~ seems strange that three engines would fail because that 5.7 L was a great engine ~~~

Hello Gil & Welcome to the site! Sorry about your luck with engines. The 5.7 was a great engine.

Hopefully the 4th one might be the one. I think the truck is jixed because the person I bought it from was big on skulls. He left a cross hanging on the mirror with one and the back window has a big cross pasted on it. He was definitely a Harley guy because the front window brow has Harley Davison on it. Also left a skull figurine mounted on the dash that lights up when the lights are on. Nice purple color. Maybe if I remove all those things, just maybe my luck will change. It might be a while to work on the engine because I bought a 1956 Chevy 4 door bel air hardtop in Feb and it just now came in last week from New Jersey. Since I still have my 92 S10 that refuses to give up, I'll just play it by ear until I finish my homemade truck dolly I am building specifically to tow my 96 if it ever leaves me stranded as it has already twice. Tow companies are expensive!
